Can USF give away free tics to the upper sections?

There was a group sitting behind the Bulls bench, lower level, that all had on yellow(I think) t-shirts, Anybody know if that was some kind of promotion?

I think you are referring to about 30 kids and adults from the Hudson Cougars Bball team (blue and yellow shirts).  They were originally seated in the last 2 rows of the 2nd level.  When the game started, someone went up and invited all of them to move down to level one - a nice gesture.  They also invited everyone sitting behind the band to move down into the empty student section next to the band.  I imagine all this is DW's doing to create a better atmosphere for the team.  They have also put up the curtain again to block the view of all the empty 3rd level seats.

Wasn't the game on Saturday taped for BH47? I would think that - camera wise - you're better off packing the lower tier. It would be interesting to see if the same situation occurs when there's no cameras on the court.

The increased concessions sales + increased community interest always outweighs the overhead of donated tickets. ALWAYS. I've done a lot of work with this from an economic standpoint. Of course, that assumes the school owns the facility, which, if i'm not mistaken, is not the case with the sun dome (or RJS) which throws all that out the window.

the ideal for any ticketed sale situation is for, at the start of the contest/performance, a butt in every seat. It goes a lot more in depth from here so I'll shut up.

Is this about basketball or football?

If it is basketball... there is NO extra overhead to giving away tickets, except maybe cleaning afterward, which has to be done anyway since some people do sit up there anyway.

If it is football, i understand not doing it, but basketball, it can only help.

I wonder if it's possible to have a place where those with tickets who know in advance that they cannot attend, sell or give the tickets away to mail them to USF where they can be distributed to those who will use it.  Boys/Girls Club, Shriner's, Moffitt, etc.

Just drop the ticket price a couple o' bucks... people eat that stuff up. If EVERYONE thinks their getting more bang for their buck, you'll fill more seats no matter where it is.  (I'm srue to pay $9 a beer tho ) ;)
