The original Stanley Cup is in the vault at the Hockey HOF. The replica that is used now has round strips that are taken off the trophy and displayed at the HOF when they are filled up.Interesting read on the cup history. http://beta.encarta.msn.com/encnet/refpages/refarticle.aspx?refid=761585412Lord Stanley never even saw the trophy awarded as the First winner was Ottawa but the league said the trophy must be won and told Ottawa that they must play and beat Toronto in Toronto to claim it. Ottawa said no and the trophy was not awarded. Lord Stanley was called back to Europe after that and never returned to these parts. There are a ton of crazy stories about the cup being left places and having people pee in it or baptize their kids in it etc...

I grew up in Mass and played from age 6-18. The Cup has a huge history as they let every player from winning team get the trophy for one day in the offseason after there win and they can do what they like with the trophy. Of course I had to look up facts on the net as I dont think anyone can answer these questions you have without help. How could anyone name 9 HOF on a basketball team fron early 60's without help? Keep the questions coming though as they are tough as hell and are very hard to find answers even with the net.
