I'm sure 'South Beach' was what decided it for him.

As a Dolphins fan, I don't know if I like this hire or not. Don't love it, don't hate it, I'm just going to give the man a chance. Lord knows they need some fresh leadership in that franchise.

Guest FreaKnight!

For what it's worth...

When LSU played in the BCS championship game last year, the media did a story on Saban, and one of the people they interviewed was Bill Billicheck (sp?), New England's head coach.

Billicheck was the DC for the Browns when Saban was an assistant there...and Billicheck said that he learned a great deal of his defensive ideas that he uses now from Saban.

I think Saban is a good hire and will do well in Miami.  He won at Michigan State and he has done well at LSU, plus he does have NFL experience as an assistant.
