Heck, it's probably a coin toss whether he actually has access to that info - I'd guess someone else is responsible for the more technical maintenance and monitoring of the blog. Greg is a regular renaissance man though, maybe I'm underestimating him.

It matters. I was advertising this site all over the place and providing our members the pathway to his site when it was brand new and McMurph was the only quasi-legit option. Easy decision, I know.If you read Greg's blog, especially early on, it's all about traffic - and still is. Whether it's competition against other SPT blogs or outside entities. It's a business for those with a salary.I think he does a GREAT job.I guess I'm just hurt that we'd be overlooked. I'll get over it.

I'd be shocked if Greg Auman had anything to do with tracking referrals to his blog. I did once before get told by him that I was wrong in extrapolating some other experience of mine and assuming it applied to his newspaper, so I guess only he knows for sure, but I think it's unlikely for not only practical reasons but perhaps ethical ones as well. I don't doubt that he COULD get that info if he wanted, but Greg's not the one who would be potentially selling ads based on where traffic to his blog is coming from, so it doesn't make sense for him to be the one worrying about it. And if the constant stream of great info from him tells us anything, it's that he probably doesn't have much time to worry about it.I don't think you need to be offended.

Now don't get me wrong. I think Greg does a great job and I support him. But he knows more than you think.

Very much appreciative of all the traffic that comes from here. Didn't mean that as any slight. Wasn't like I had a long list of places I'd remembered to say something to and I'd left out this site. Was just busy yesterday trying to figure out the changes on my end and didn't think about the prominent link on this page.I have absolutely nothing to do with selling ads on the blog -- there's a separation between editorial and advertising at nearly all newspapers. I don't need any traffic numbers to know that lots of Bulls fans come from this message board to my blog. Thanks again -- honestly, no disrespect intended.
