• Skip Holtz, 46, has been a coach half his life and led East Carolina to four consecutive bowls before departing. The task at South Florida should keep him busy, but a lot of people are curious to see how this turns out.

Interesting list... although most of the coaches are over 40 and two of them are "50" -- I don't know if these are "young" coaches.

There are relatively few college football coaches younger than 45, and even fewer who are actually any good.

This list loses points for not including Pat Fitzgerald, who was the youngest coach in the country when he was hired (now second to Lane Kiffen) and has led the Wildcats to back-to-back bowl bids for the first time ever. Bo Pelini of Nebraska is another coach who I think should have been mentioned.

I was not in favor of the Leavitt firing, but Skip was my first pick and the one I felt most likely to be within our reach.  May he find success at USF.

I think it's coaches that are up and coming.  If not, than Urban Meyer should be on there.

yea and lane kiffin isnt on the list.  im not a huge kiffin fan but to be as young as he is and had the jobs that he's had....

he's got to be a good coach.

so i agree, this is more a list of "up and coming" coaches.

young...not so much.  it says in the blurb about skip that he is 46 and been a coach for half his life.  how is that a "young coach"?

glad he is getting the attention though.
