The Catholics have always tried to stay together since the league was formed. Being of NE origin where college football is not king, the conference was built on having the best basketball programs. ND didn't care about BE football since they had their own conference. Everyone was happy until the ACC and now B10 tried to cripple the conference.

ND didn't even join until 15 years after the league formed, so it wouldn't be too upsetting to see them go.

Should Rutgers hit the road as well?

In this age of expansion, what does ND bring to the BE?

What effect would ND not being in the BE have?

Is there a monetary reason?

The only reason we have ND is because they have a decent basketball team and bring in strong Olympic sports.

The Big East leaders are idiots... nation wide football is the top bill except in the New England states where basketball is thus why the Big East is soooooo weak.

The Big East is like bizzaro world... left is right, up is down, basketball is better then football...

You do realize the league was formed as a basketball league right?

Kicking them out is still not going to help out bringing in a quality football program

Funny, you kick them out and they get another conference to take all the other teams.  Why, because the mere fact that they may one day, potentially, possibly join for football.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
