That would be great for Cincy. Since the buckeyes don't want to play them. I would LOVE for the Bulls to go to the SEC. But we all know that the gaytors would put a stop to that.

we would have a better shot at joining the acc depending on which direction the expansion goes.  If the big 10 go to the big 14, and pac 10 does the same you will see major realignments with all conferences.

Another pointless rant. Just throwing stuff against a wall. This is all about money and there is no explanation as to why ND would join a conference or why any conference would expand past 12. You have to split your money up more ways so why would a conference add more schools for just the sake of it? BSU & Utah would jump at any chance to join the Pac-10......because the money would be greater. So what they won't go undefeated. They have done that before, how many BCS championships has going undefeated gotten them?

Mark my words, there will be a minimum 8 team playoff in five years.  The powers to be in Washington are going to force the BCS's hand.  Too many powerful Senators in representing states and teams like Utah, TCU, Boise State etc....to sit back and watch another BCS extension get signed.

All this conference realignment will be for nothing when they force a playoff.

My prediction is that they use the formula to determine the top 8 or 12 seeds.  I think they should go with the top 12 teams with the top four getting a first round bye.  This idea that it will ruin the bowl games is just stupid.  All the USF Fans are still going to watch the Pizza bowl when we don't make the playoffs.

Bobby -

I appreciate your passion there, but trust me a senator that puts a large amount of effort into something like this is asking to be replaced when his seat comes up again.  You do realize that we have the highest unemployment rate the country has seen in decades.  Not to mention two wars going on.  There is absolutely no way that this issue carries enough weight to take the focus off of all of the above.  Not to mention the current pres has this little health care bill still sitting unresolved.

Now as to the three teams you mentioned, I think its highly likely that all three of them are in a BCS conf in the next 5 years making your argument mute.

The Big 10 will not take Cincy. The Big 10 is an elite academic conference. Cincy is probably about 12th on their list. Its probably going to be a team from the Big 12.

If we're talking longshots, Louisville would get in before Cincinnati would. Cincinnati would have to permanently move to Paul Brown Stadium for any game involving another Big Ten member, and the Big Ten has some sort of rule where they want all of their members to have on campus stadiums (see: Minnesota's new joint). Cincy has an OCS, but 35,000 barely supports their own fans when they're doing well. It wouldn't work for B10 purposes.

At least Louisville has a stadium expansion coming.

Neither UL nor UC are candidates for B10 expansion. Outside of ND, the B10 will only take AAU members. If they're not on this list, they're not going to the B10. Even the University of Toronto has a better chance than UL or UC.  ;D

IMO, Iowa State is the best choice (after ND) since Iowa is already a B10 member.
