Evacuations, deaths, mudslides. Its like the 3rd world. I have satellite TV, its been off most of the time since yesterday at 4 with no signal. The internet went this morning, but its back. Ordered one of those emergency crank lights with a radio as soon as I got the internet back. I am ok, as long as the dam holds up on the sub division pond. The run off is behind our house. But our house is elevated about 5 feet so hopefully in the worse case, we are ok. The yard 2 houses down is flooding though. And the last time we had this happen, our sub division pond overflowed into the next subdivision and there was water damage to several homes. Like 5 feet of water in the lower floors. Since they never fixed the problem with our pond, I am sure its going to happen again. Our subdivision somehow avoided a lawsuit that time, doubt they will this time. Kinda reminds me of that movie 2012. http://www.ajc.com/

I don't know the details but that sucks. We are keeping an eye on the creek behind us, a ditch really, its full to the top now. Its also the kind of soaking where trees start to fall with the ground so soft. Man, this really sucks up here. I got family on the road locally and I bet they can't get home. Another 4 inches on the way.

They had just shown cars flooded out on the downtown connnector under water with their headlights on.

Most of it not covered because you have to have flood insurance and many don't. 2nd day my daughter and wife are home. Submerged roads and bridges that have not checked to see if they are damaged make it hard to get around.
