Former USF forward Altron Jackson, who played for the Bulls from 1999-2002 and remained Conference USA's career scoring leader until last season, has returned to USF as a manager on Stan Heath's staff.

"He's helping out on the court with us. He's doing a great job," Heath said. "I think he's made that separation from a player to now transitioning to a guy who's going to be kind of a coach. The first few days, I had to say 'Look, guys, this is one of the better players that has played in a Bulls uniform, a terrific player."

Jackson, from Sarasota's Riverview High, finished his career with 2,017 points and remains second on the Bulls' career scoring list behind Charlie Bradley.

That is so awesome. Hopefully he can teach some kids how to play D. The man could shut you down with those long freaking arms.

That's great to hear.  Tron was a great player and I enjoyed working with him during my time as a manager for Coach Greenberg.  Altron will be a tremendous asset to Coach Heath's staff.  The future gets brighter in the Sun Dome everyday.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
