From Big East.org weekly honors.  Note, no Matt Grothe even though he set the all time BE record in yards and beat out Pat White for the conf record.  He was robbed.

The BIG EAST Conference has named West Virginia quarterback Jarrett Brown, Pittsburgh linebacker Adam Gunn and Cincinnati wide receiver Mardy Gilyard the winners of the conference's weekly football honors for Week 2 of the 2009 season.

WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Lindsey Witten, DE, Connecticut

Dion Lewis, RB, Pittsburgh

Jourdan Brooks, RB, Rutgers

Moise Plancher, RB, USF

Brandon Hogan, DB, West Virginia

Brown played 100 times better than Grothe on Saturday.

It would be ridiculous if Grothe were listed instead.

These are weekly awards, not careerly...

Understood, but it was last saturdays performance that set him over the edge.  Consider this text from the big east site.  Doesn't sound like someone you would not recognize if you ask me.  I think he was snubbed for some reason.  I have emailed the Big East commissioner and head of football asking them for a response.  Read on....

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) -Matt Grothe threw for 208 yards and two touchdowns, becoming the Big East's all-time leader in total offense to help South Florida pull away from Western Kentucky 35-13 on Saturday night.

The senior quarterback added 53 yards rushing to boost his career total yardage to 10,702, breaking the record of 10,329 held by former West Virginia star Pat White as the Bulls (2-0) took control in the second half to pull away from the Hilltoppers.

Grothe threw touchdown passes of 14 yards to Theo Wilson and 17 yards to Ben Busbee, helping the Bulls overcome a sluggish start and post their 13th straight regular season nonconference win. Moise Plancher added 115 yards rushing and two touchdowns for South Florida.

You must be smazza's alter ego?  I noticed by the lack of caps and punctuation.

Anyway, since you only have 151 posts, I'd recommend you review my posting history and you will see I am generally a voice of reason on this web site.  I am more of a realist.

I am complaining as you'd think that when a player hits a huge milestone, and has a chance at being top 10 all time in the NCAA for a particular record, they would make a big deal out of that.  How many QB's ran personally for 58 yards and threw 3 TD's last weekend in D1 ball?  I bet not very many.  So to do that, and set a new conference record in a conference that has some of its member teams who have been playing for over 120 years, to me is fairly impressive.  Think Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse.  And Matt broke their century of records.

This is laughable. Grothe deserves not awards. WKU is a terrible team. He played mediocre. I expected a MUCH bigger game out if Grothe. All he has proved is that he still makes undisciplined throws and hasn't changed.

I hope he dominates this sat.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
