I have been following this team long enough where this does not concern me.  It happens every year.  And then we beat a teams that we are not supposed to beat.  It's just part of the rollercoaster ride.  I wouldn't have it any other way.

Really, though? No need for concern at all? 2 ugly wins against violation teams and we shouldn't be concerned? We're firing on about half our cylinders and there's no need for concern? I wish I could be as optimistic, and I do try, but man oh man it's hard watching my Bulls sometimes. It would be unbullievable to watch a game where we're just dominating for once, putting on a clinic, playing good football. I mean, Wofford and WKU??? This wasn't us taking hard-fought wins against FSU and Miami. Wofford and WKU!!!!

C'mon seriously.  Maybe "Two and oh" is okay for Big East play but not for the two teams we just played.  Are you saying you would be okay if we won both of these games by one point decided on a snap over a punter's head at the end of the game?  If not, than enough is not said about two and oh.

I'm not afraid, ashamed, or whatever to say that I am concerned.  The number of penalties, the way these last two teams have run straight up the middle, and our ******* field goal kicking definately has me concerned.

But like IHuckItDeep said, I'm not giving up because we have a lot of season ahead of us and we seem to be moving in the right direction - but I am concerned.

Ugly wins are much better than pretty losses.

First, I don't expect a 12-0 season.  So losing to FSU or Pitt won't be a heart breaker.  USF will lose at least one game this year...

Second, I believe CJL's style is to just do enough to win the game against the patsies.  He doesn't want to put a lot on game film for FSU or Cincy or WVU this early in the season.  Better to keep things close to your vest.

I have also watched some of our opponents games.  None of them are that impressive.

I'm hoping we are holding stuff back bc I saw some of our big east foes hang some pretty gaudy numbers yesterday.  Cincy scored what?  70?  Even WVU put up 35 against ECU which is light years better than WKU.  Rutgers even put up 45 and they SUCK!  Tennessee that completely obliterated WKU last week, just got punked by UCLA which scares the heck out of me when we couldn't take control of this game early.

It's no one thing that has me concerned other than kicking.  I'm all for going to a 4 down offense unless it's a punting situation.  So far this team just finds ways to shoot itself in the foot.  Not sure what they are doing in practice, but we really got to smooth out the wrinkles.

The talent is definitely there bc you can see it in spurts.  Just seems like guys aren't "locked in" yet which is a little disturbing bc they were chomping at the bit all summer to get game action yet here we are and we're not stepping on the throats of folks.  

Maybe CJL is holding stuff back, but I don't think so.  When your team is substantially more talented at every position, at the worst you should have the results we have had so far.  If we were clicking, we could've easily hung 60 on these two teams...

If we don't absolutely maul CSU next week, then yeah, I'll be scared.  But right now I think we still have the parts to beat really good teams, but CJL is going to have to find the "switch" to flip to get these guys to play to their abilities and then some.

I'd be more worried if we didn't have the parts like in the kicking game.  At least against FSU they won't be able to kick FGs either.  Their guy missed two XPs last night!

Oklahoma State lost to Houston.

FSU was losing to Jacksonville State in the 4th quarter.

Utah struggled with San Jose State.

Missouri barely beat Bowling Green.

Maryland had to beat James Madison in overtime.

There were a lot of close games and upsets this week for BCS/ranked teams against weak opponents.  It happens. Stop crying. It's college football. WKU wanted that game more than we did for 3 quarters, and we still won by 22 points.

Bring on CSU.
