Though I doubt the media will make that mistake too much.  For some reason they do not read our media guide which specifically [glow=red,2,300]Highlights[/glow] what we should be called quoting:

"We Are USF

When referring to the University please be aware of the following

policy regarding usage. First references to the school

and its intercollegiate athletics program should always

be the University of South Florida. The only secondary

reference used should be USF or Bulls. Please refrain from

using South Florida, S. Florida, South Fla. or any other similar

combination."

So according to this and the AP poll, we are not ranked.  Got to Love how people read up on their facts.  Who cares about U of San Fran.  They may have been "USF" first, but we are USF best.

It's great reading these articles.

Historically, there is a Big 3 ... a 20 year span.

This is a new era ... USF is on our way and FSU/UM are working their way back.

As weak as the ACC is, wouldn't be suprised if UM or FSU win. Still too early to tell.

I wonder how long it will take before the administration wants us called South Florida vs USF. It would not be the first time a school changed its position on name because of the media....we used to be the Golden Brahman Bulls and it was changed in part due to the media only calling us The Bulls. (According to ESPN's NCAA 09 game).

^ that was a hotly debated issue on this board a couple years ago... Or was it last year. Seems like most outlets are calling us "South Florida" now. Doesn't matter much to me.
