Details on Today show's stop in Tampa

The good folks at the Today show have passed along more information about their stop next Tuesday in Tampa, planned as part of a week of live shots from states which will be hotly contested "swing states in the presidential election.

Anchors Matt Lauer and Al Roker will be broadcasting from the University of South Florida's new Marshall Student Center. Gov. Charlie Crist is expected to appear, along with one of the candidates, and the show will unveil a new NBC News poll focusing on Florida issues.

They're also expecting to chat with a Florida humorist; Roker will interview Tampa Bay Buccaneer Ronde Barber, joined live via satellite from New York City by Ronde's twin brother, NBC personality Tiki Barber.  Roker also will do a cooking segment with some local chefs and hang with the University of Tampa's pep band.  Additionally, Michelle Kosinski will be live from Fort Myers looking at the real estate crash there.

Sounds like they've got a lot on tap. The show, as always, kicks off at 7 a.m.

Bad ass!  If I were a student I may skip class to check it out.  I guess more realistically I would drink less and wake up earlier to go check it out.

Looks cool.  I'll have to DVR this one.

Hope student government is on this... It'd be nice to have a large crowd in green to greet the show.

why the university of tampa's pep band???

I was thinking this too, but hey it's at USF.  I'll take location over pep band.  They aren't doing a feature on USF.  It's about Tampa in general.

On the link article it says University of Tampa.

That's crap!  What a tease!!!  The article originally said the University of South Florida's new Marshall Center.  Not UT!
