Mistakes, Coaching, Benching....

Am I the only one who thinks that Bruce Gipson is/has been a huge liability on the field this year?  Let me preface this by saying:

1.  I understand he is surely still dealing with the death of his brother, and

2.  Yes, I'll acknowledge that he did have the FG block against TCU.

IMO, he has made more timely/costly mistakes this year than anyone else.  He's fumbled 2 punts, fumbled a kickoff, and had one of the key penalties in the USM game last week.  If I was an OC for an opposing team, I'd go right at this guy knowing that he's going to make either a physical or mental mistake.  I cringe when I see a play going his way.

Part of this has to go back to coaching.  Why would a player with so many miscues continue to be on the field in crucial situations? I might be able to stomach this if he was a Freshman, but he's a seasoned Senior.  I'd rather tolerate these mistakes from someone who is learning his role.  I understand that CJL has loyalties to his upperclassmen, but please, #19 needs to be on the sidelines, more than on the field.

I agree with him not being on offense or returning punts/kicks.

The pass interference on him was a horrible call.

It's unfortunate that we are so think at DB but I think he'll be as good as anyone else we have back there, for now.  As Jenkins continues to develop he'll be the man.
