Go ahead and take it lightly... but don't complain about Strength of Schedule when the only out-of-conference opponents we can get are IAA teams b/c we piss of the administration of IA conference teams like Kansas (who will now likely never play us again because of these incidents, and for that matter... other big XII teams won't come here either unless we get things cleaned up)

Velcro - I have all the respect for you in the world but come on....

You know everybody on here has been saying we need to get this under control and we are going to do our part.  What else would you have us do???  I am not going to personally escort visiting fans to their seats.  That just leaves the impression that everybody needs an escort because it is so dangerous.

I think crambone was referring to the reports that the KANSAS fans have dumped urine filled containers on visiting fans before.  Maybe it is time to just lock this thread.

Not EVERYONE has been saying that.  Some in this thread are saying that Kansas fans are whining, and they should put up with a certain amount of crap.  They don't have to when they can schedule games against other teams that don't treat them like crap.  Would you rather go to a game at Auburn, or go to a game at UCF?

When EVERYONE is doing their part and acting grown up, this discussion can stop.

I understand some people don't believe this bad stuff happened... heck, i didn't believe it either... but unfortunately... it did... and that is sad.  And when this stuff happens... our reputation as a school is affected.

We DO need to police ourselves... if you see someone doing something stupid... either say something, or get an authority to step in.  No one is saying you need to step in and get into a fight to protect a visiting fan... but just don't ignore idiots... as they are going to ruin it for everyone.

This IS a problem and our future scheduling IS already being affected.  I don't think people grasp how bad this is.  When our OOC schedule is Charleston Southern, Tenn Martin, and Nichols state for years to come, this Kansas game was the beginning of that and if we don't get it straightened out... it will happen that way.

But it is within our power to fix this.  Most fans are not the problem... so we (the good ones) just need to be vocal when we see something... and vocal can mean telling someone to calm down, and show respect, or getting an officer to step in if neccessary.

Again... there are people high up on the food chain that are very upset about this and how this will affect us.  It isn't just some people on a message board whining... not this time.

Fair enough, and maybe saying everybody was a bit of an overstatement, but if you look through all these threads (and I know you probably have being a mod and all) most (can I say that?) of the people posting are saying we need to step up and correct it.  We have already stated it about a billion times (I know, not really a billion).

I guess my point was, just because someone made a joke (maybe a bad one?) does not mean that we do not take it seriously.

Oh, i agree...  wholeheartedly with your assessment... but also, in this thread, there is quite a solid contingent of people saying..."oh this didn't happen, this is just Kansas fans whining b/c they lost, just like every other team does when they lose."    I was one of them at first...  but I was wrong.  We now have a few threads going on the same topic... The other one "pledge from a USF fan" is probably the best thread to go into more details on... as I figure out what I can talk about and what is best left off public forums.

Another bull's fan who attended the game checking in.  I arrived at 5pm to the general parking area on the north side of the stadium.  We walked over to the mall tailgates and hung out for about a half hour.  We then went to the south end parking and got some Chik Filet and walked around the tailgates there.  I saw quite a few Kansas fans as I walked around and never heard or saw any problems.  At one point we sat on the curb outside the stadium eating our sandwiches and joked with a few Kansas fans about "not being in Kansas anymore".  We told them about the free Full Throttle and Lipton and where to get the chicken sandwiches because they hadn't eaten yet.  The only problem I had was with a drunk USF fan in his fifties standing behind me who continuously cheered for Kansas and kept saying USF was going to lose and that we were inferior to the fighting Mangino's.  He was wearing a USF hat and shirt.  I think alcohol is the main factor in most of the incidents that occur and that some haven't learned how to act as fans.  You can find this problem with every college team.

I did the "Rock, Chalk, Gayhawk" chant. I'll take responsibility for that...

I also was screaming "You can't spell 'Suck' without KU". And their middle age fans laughed.

I was drunk the whole time I was at the tailgate and in the endzone representing 125. I thought I was well behaved. No police escorts. Lots of hugs between fellow fans. No Bull on Bull violence. Although, I did spray a Bulls fan with a beer (jumping up and down when the team came out of the tunnel) and then immediately gave him a full Ray J beer.

But I was nice to older people and was considerate of any children in the area.

Some KU student called me unoriginal, and then we proceeded to play flip cup during a tailgate.

The problem is... old established programs can't handle our loud, young fan base. These old hoots that are the big donors and can afford to come to the games expect a tea party. Sorry... go sit in your student section for a big game and see reality first hand.

Reminds me of when the Memphis fans would come to our basketball games at the Dome. You see all these old ladies in blue that look like Marge Simpson. They're always appalled by our antics. I still take pleasure in the fact the Dome was called the hardest place to play in during the 2001 season by our conference bretheren. And we never sold a game out.

If you win, the games will be scheduled. And this non-sense about imposing more restrictions on fans... take a hike. My section seems to police itself pretty well. It's a football game, not a tea party!
