I think that all he was saying is that when taylor breaks a thirty yard run off, dont take him out and switch running backs.  While the defense is on their heals leave taylor or whoever is heating up in to keep pounding until that drive is over.  More momentum.

After a few big runs take him out to let him catch his breath.  With our depth at running back there's no reason to play a guy who's winded.  Plus if you want any more running back recruits they better know they'll get playing time.

Ask USC how their million back system works.  They seem to be doing alright.

ET certainly has a point...and the offensive statistics have definitely be good. However, this offense has enough talent to do more..and playcalling leaves us getting in the way of ourselves. Where was the offensive flow during the first half against Kansas? For the last two weeks we've had a fourteen point lead going into the 4th quarter only to see our offense lockup and stall...why? At UCF, why did RIchard Kelly have 2 great runs and then get benched for the balance of the game? Against Kansas, why did Jamar Taylor dissappear after his big run rather than getting a breath and getting back in? Why do we consistently run an empty backfield in the redzone and in short yardage situations so defenses can key on our QB?

Nobody is hating on the team or unhappy with the wins...but the stats don't tell the whole story. If it did we would have beaten UCF by 3 TD's... We can't get away with the current "herky-jerkiness" of the offense against our conference schedule; especially on the road.

Every time an OC has done this in the past, people call for his head.

no matter what is done people will call for the OC's head.  in the past 2 weeks there have been posts stating we need to:

be more aggressive

be less aggressive

run ford more

run taylor more

run plancher more

run bbq more

run kelly more

throw to TJ more

throw to mitchell more

throw to ced hill more

throw to AJ love more

throw to bogan more

throw to hester more

throw to edwards more

kansas let up more than 37 points exactly 1 time last season (76-39 W vs nebraska).

it is rare (**** near unheard of) for an offense to roll for 60 minutes against a legit top 25 team.  you aren't going to just drive the ball up and down the field all night against any good defense.  remember they have coaches and their guys are on scholarship too.  we put up 31 points in 18 minutes against kansas.  how many more times will they allow that this season?

You made a couple of good points but seriously? we're averaging almost 500 yards total offense but you think we can do more?  :ROFLMAO

Not much has changed in terms of the decision making from last year.  Kind of scary I must say!

What made the difference in the KU game?  We started running the ball!  3rd and 1, at the end of the game throw the ball and get a sack?  WTF?  You are telling me you couldn't at least roll out Grothe so he could scramble for 1 yard if necessary?

One thing that frustrates me about both the Bulls and the Bucs is the confusion with running the ball and abandoning it when it works.

If you want to pat yourself on the back and be satisfied with blowing out an FCS team, going to overtime against a non BCS school, and winning on a last second field goal against a team we were whipping going into the 4th quarter...then your expectations are low. Statistics are misleading...if we do not improve you won't be laughing much longer.

Nice post.

I happen to feel we could do more. Not necessarily in terms of raw numbers, but like you just mentioned, we should be winning these games by larger margins and not allowing our opponents to stick around.
