In no order ...

Bonani's Game Winner against Kansas

Gramatica's Game Winner against So. Miss

Gramatica's 63 Yarder against Austin Peay

All 3 in Tamplona and I am honored to be there.

I would have to say that Alvarado's kick to tie the game against Auburn after missing his first four attempts should be on this list. Probably at the top -- even more important than Bonani's on Friday night.

So true ... Alvarado's Game Tying Kick is part of mine also.

Maikon History

True freshman Maikon Bonani became a part of the USF record books with his game winning field goal against Kansas on Sept. 12. The true freshman became just the third kicker to nail a game winner to close a game and the first to do it as a rookie. As a junior Santiago Gramatica hit a 26-yard field goal to defeat Louisville, 31-28, in overtime in 2003. As a sophomore his brother, Bill Gramatica, hit a 44-yarder as time expired against Liberty in 1998 that sealed a 24-21 win.

Bill Gramatica's Game Winner at Liberty needs to be on the list.

Since we’re talking “kicks†how about the first kickoff back in 1997?

I'm sure Steve Riggs had a FG in that first game ever vs Kentucky Wesleyan.  That kick should be listed.

Some more that come to mind... not all positive, mind you, but memorable:

Illinois State's missed chip shot field goal in 1999, which gave USF a 14-13 win and its first win over a ranked I-AA team.

In USF's first game as a I-A team, Northern Illinois' Steve Azar hits a field goal on the last play to beat USF... the week before the trip to Pittsburgh. (And 10 days before 9-11.)

In 2003 East Carolina misses a PAT in overtime, giving USF a 38-37 win.

The last-play field goal in a 42-0 loss to Arkansas that kept USF's "never been shut out" streak alive for four more seasons.

Didn't Huey Whittaker block a field goal to win us an overtime game once? I want to say it was against Cincinnati.

And one kick that was never attempted... in its 10th football game, against national power Georgia Southern, USF goes for 2 and fails, losing 24-23.

Couldn't agree more ...

Exactly, thats why it should be listed.  Its the first ever made FG.  Not the second one, or third one.  Its the first and should be listed for all time.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
