"Bring it on," Grothe said. "I'm ready. We're ready."

I think we need to chip in and get the kid a muzzle... :)

No kidding.  Anyone else think thats his Achilles heel?

Yeah it can be but this quote wasn't that bad.

The UCF quote we could have scored more was something he shouldn't have said but he was telling the truth :)

MG played his heart out last night and I'm proud to have him in green. But they need to give these kids a workshop on how to deal with the media...

I'll take a cocky winner over a humble loser any day. nothing wrong with his quotes.

I like it. Its called swagger and every elite team at every level has it.

As a leader on this team I want him to be confident and even a little cocky. Those are the guys that the rest of the team rallies around and step their game up for.

I was just commenting last night how much Grothe has changed since he first started out there.  He used to be very composed and now he is showing a lot of emotion on the field.  I am not sure what is better but I do know as a competitor you have to believe that you can win in order to win.

True but you still need swagger and confidence. Nothing wrong with his comments. Better than...Well we played well and I hope we can beat those other teams we are going to play like Syracuse because they are so good!

I don't think "Bring it on" and "We are ready" are cocky by any measure.  It's confident which you have to be to win.

yea..its not this comment solely.  but a combination of the comments he has made in recent weeks. ie..the jersey thing, the ucif stuff, etc

it just takes away from his skill as a player when he is seen as a mouthpiece.

he seems like a good kid but he is good enough to have everyone else do the talking and let his play speak for itself.

I'd rather him have confidence than say "gosh, i just hope we're good enough to not lose..."

Love the attitude, and didn't see any disrespect towards any other teams in his comments here.  Now his UCF comments ... ;-)
