Take a look at this link from SI.com..

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/stewart_mandel/09/09/power.rankings/index.html

The section is copied below...  Mandell says that USF Failed to Put Away the Knights...  WTF???  And to think I thought we won last week....

South Florida Bulls (2-0)

Maybe it was the hostile atmosphere at UCF -- where QB Matt Grothe's family was kept under police protection -- but the Bulls failed to put away the Knights despite Grothe throwing for 346 yards and USF outgaining the Knights 504-226.

Last game: Beat UCF 31-24 (OT).

Next game: Friday vs. Kansas.

We didn't put them away.  We should have and could have won by 21.  That's putting a team away.  We did win, but not like we were supposed too.

Yeah we didn't "put them away" - I think he means despite all our yards and big D performance we still had to win in OT leaving them in the game.

Woohoo 100 post!

Mandel obviously accidentally put a C instead of an S, but he is right. we didn't put them away. Mandel has been one of the guys that hypes USF the past couple years.

Which reminds me...did anyone hear Lou Holtz last night?

Ohio State and Notre Dame - they got the "w"

USF - I don't remember the exact quote, but we were lucky to get by Central Florida.  Of course, Rece Davis jumped in and reminded him of how much yardage we gained against UCF.

Â¥eah, thanks Rece. I know you don't like our helmet, but at least you know what you're talking about.

Don't worry...if the past is any indication...I'm sure reese will take his opportunity to bad mouth us tonight :)

I think Reece is still trying to make up for the helmet incident.

He said he would wear a USF Helmet if we go undefeated, or something like that.
