Southern Miss (2-0) at South Florida (2-1), 7 pm EST GamePlan

Why to watch: South Florida might not have started the season looking pretty, but a 45-44 overtime win over TCU changed things around. In a tough Conference USA season, every win counts and that was a big one to get on the road before facing Southern Miss and with Louisville and UAB still ahead. The Eagles won their league opener by throttling Tulane and are thinking this could be the team to challenge the BCS. But there can't be any slip-ups and South Florida boasts one of the best home field résumés in the league.

Why Southern Miss might win: Don't let the explosion against TCU fool you; the USF offense isn't all that good.  TCU's defense is currently among the worst in college football and last against the pass, but the Southern Miss D is a different story. This is the typical killer defense forcing eight turnovers in the first two games and should swarm all over the Bull offense that's only averaging 292 yards per outing.

Why South Florida might win: Along with its killer home field advantage, USF has a strong run defense that should be able to keep the average Southern Miss ground game under wraps. Yes, the Eagles are currently second in Conference USA in rushing, but that's all due to one performance against Tulane. USF's defense is far better.

Who to watch: The Southern Miss passing game hasn't been quite there yet, but the ground game has a weapon in junior Anthony Harris. After being the focal point of the offense over the second half of last year, Harris has been strong in the first two games rushing for 72 yards and a touchdown against Nebraska and 118 yards against Tulane. For USF, QB Pat Julmiste finally took the job by the horns throwing for 324 yards and a touchdown against TCU. He's young and still needs some polish, but at least he showed the potential that he'll turn into a weapon.  

What will happen: It's never smart to go against USF at home, but the offense is going to struggle a bit too much against Michael Boley and the brutal Southern Miss D..
