A total of 7 Bowl Bound Teams this year!    USC, TCU, Smiss, UAB, Memphis, Lville, and Pitt.    KInd of makes me think if we can go 4-3 we COULD go bowling.. They have TCU and Troy in New Orleans, so lets beat the frogs and party in New Orleans!   Later T-Man

TCU, USM, UAB, Memphis, & Louisville = 5 C-USA teams...

I think we are fighting with TCU an UAB for fourth and fifth spots (Hawaii or New Orleans)... of course, we could run most of the table (@ Louisville might be tough) - and end up in Mobile or Fort Worth... the Liberty Bowl may be a bit of a stretch.

Hard to believe that if TCU is eligible for a bowl that they won't go to Ft Worth, though.

So the big question is...

If 4-3 (mediocre) gets you to a bowl game - granted , you'd probably be playing another mediocre team -  does this really warrant "post season play"?

My take: There's way too many Poulan Weed Whacker Bowls out there.  At some point, given the caliber of play, isn't it just another road game? Is there a sense that maybe post-season play should go to teams that actually excelled during the season? I remember a few years back, though they did have the requisite number of conference wins, Tejas Norte did have an overall losing record and still went to a bowl game.  :
