to Brent Schaeffer transferring.  In MY opinion, Ainge is going to win the job at UT and i dont see Brent sitting around being a backup.  He has looked pretty **** good in his early starts but my gut says Ainge takes over full time starter by the end of the year.  So i guess this will prove just how much Schaeffer liked USF pretty soon!

Not sure why would care.  The Bulls problem with QB is this year.  With Denson, Grothe and Hill here next year I dont think we need to worry about QB.  Not that it wouldnt be nice to have Schaeffer, but he would have some serious competition here as well after having to sit out for a year.

he would be head and shoulders above any QB that we would have on our roster next year

Maybe, he was definitely more polished then anyone coming out this year at QB in FL.  HOWEVER, considering he must sit a year, Schaeffer might find a challenge in 2006 of beating out a senior in PJ, plus amazing talents in Carlton Hill, Matt Grothe and the new incoming freshman QB 2006 commit Jared Fayson.

Granted Schaeffer was a more polished, and gifted QB coming out of HS, but Carlton Hill is an elite athlete, best of the best (you just can't believe who we beat out for this kid), Matt Grothe's accomplishments are amazing not nearly as gifted athletically as either Schaeffer, or Hill, but Matt has those gritty intangibles that you look at him and say "he's a winner, he'll go the extra 2 miles to get the job done."   It definitely isn't a sure thing, today I'd say if Schaeffer wasn't forced to sit then coming in August 2005 he'd be heads and tails ahead of Grothe and Hill, but give those two exceptional athletes time to develop, and it wouldn't surprise me to see one of them beating out Schaeffer.

By the way, I don't think Brent transfers.  Not after his freshman year, he still thinks he's better and will eventually beat out Ainge.

i am another game or two away from completely losing faith in PJ, he hasnt really shown anything in the games I have seen.  Not sure about the incoming QB's but as bad as the QB situation looks now, I would much rather have too many

Lets not count our chickens until they hatch.  As of now the only guys we definitely have for next year are PJ, the backups and the transfer from Auburn.  I would say it is pretty much definite that we land Grothe.  He seems very solid in his verbal, but we must remember that verbal is all they are.  I will be very pleased if we get Hill also, but in the same breath wouldn't be suprised if we lost him.  It is just way too early in the recruiting game.  Remember C ingram.  He said he was coming here the night before to CJL and then signed with the Gators.  I've learned my lesson from recruiting after the last couple of years.  Until I see the official release from USF stating who has signed I won't get my hopes up.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
