usf needs to accomplish something to warrant pne of best programs to come here

leavitt should say "bulls will play gators in gainsville every year"

You remember us beating Auburn, the team that beat Florida last year?

That warrants enough

I'm not sure our fan base is large enough to want them to come to Tampa yet. Tampa has a HUGE gator following and I don't know how much home field advantage would be had at Ray Jay.

Better already be a season ticket holder, or plan on doing it soon, or you'll have no chance in the world of goin to the game in 2010 (unless you pay big bucks).

The Gators do have a HUGE fan base in Tampa. Having the Gators leave the swamp to come to rayjay will not exactly intimidate them, since there might be just as many gator fans at the game. Once we have a few more good seasons, I can see UF wanting to play us

Pop quiz: Name the only cities in which Florida has played a non-conference game since 1991.

Tallahassee, Miami, & Gainesville.

Tallahassee because they've been doing it for more than 50 years.

Miami, rarely, because UM won't play UF without a 1-and-1 series.

Florida will never play in Tampa when they could get opponents to play in Gainesville where 92,000 (and growing) people can buy tickets.

"Florida won’t come in here to Tampa," said Leavitt, whose team is scheduled to play the Gators in Gainesville in 2010 and 2015. "We haven’t been able to get that done. Before, I could understand why, because we were averaging probably 32 or 34,000. Now we’re selling out Raymond James."

Not sure I understand CJL's reasoning on that. I don't think our home attendance has anything at all to do with them not coming here ...

Honestly I dont see UF ever playing in Tampa. It makes no monetary sense for them and certainly they would not need it for attention.

FSU is also in similar boat. You have two schools that draw 80k+ at home. FSU already plays UM and UF yearly they wouldnt want another florida team yearly.

Miami because of its lower attendance and the fact that they only play FSU yearly made the most sense.

I only see USF playing UF or FSU in a Bowl game.

Who cares about if there was a ton of Gator fans at RayJay if they came?! I was at the Capital One Bowl this year and a good 80% of the fans were for UF. But Michigan still dominated and raped Tebow.

Lets get them to step up.
