I'd be curious to see if maybe 500 or 1000 complaint emails to our athletic director would result in us always being guaranteed the iconic U midfield at our games.

I hope there is a large parking garage attached, and a moat filled with alligators surrounded by a 12 foot electric fence.  That might make it safe to attend games.

The OB is definitely gone, and has been for quite some time. I live just a few blocks from where it used to be. I must say, the view has opened up considerably ;-)

The "rumor" about a Marlins complex is true. They will be building a new field for the Marlins over the spot the OB used to be, effectively preventing UM from having their own stadium anywhere near the school for decades due to space constraints (and of course, the $200 million it would take to build one).

Their situation is a bit different than ours. They can't paint the end zones for half of the season anyway, because the Marlins' infield dirt stretches into one of the end zones. The Dolphins don't paint anything on their field until baseball season ends and they take out the dirt and replace it with grass.

True the endzones are not painted for the until the end of Sept, usually 2 home games, but what about the rest of the year? What excuse do the Bucs have?

wow...I didn't realize that the OB had already been razed.  As much of a dump as it was, there was major history in that place.

How can you tell the difference between the Orange Bowl and a pile of rubble?

I wish we had the atmosphere that the OB had. You guys thought Auburn was cool, The OB is 10 x's more intense for a big game. I shed a few tears when they tore the place down. Even bought a piece of the old OB for my personal collection. Im still waiting for it to come.

If by intense you mean worried that you may get a shiv in the back, you're probably right ... by any other definition, that statement is patently absurd.
