and now come my feelings of confliction.  obivously higher rankings are great for publicity but i hate to be set up for a fall.

by optimistic

higher rankings mean easier tobe ranked #1

win them all and it is moot. 

absolutely true that to be what we can and want to be we have to be ranked high and live up to it.

maybe im just not done with the underdog role.  its a lot of fun.

I know preseason rankings dont matter...  but there should be no way we get left out of the top 25.  Using that loss against Oregon as a reason to not be ranked is wrong. 

If Notre Dame and Pitt are gonna be ranked because of talent, then we should be ranked due to returning a lot of players from last year's BCS contender.

great point...pre-season rankings are about future potential not past season production.  Returning 16 starters and other key components plus bringing in some big time JUCO should put us in the top 25 after last season's successes.

By the time he gets what he wants, it'll be too late.

Cincinnati needs to look ahead and develop Demetrius Jones.  They better hope to the football gods that Grutza doesnt wind up as the starter......
