All-Star Voting

MLB needs to get it together.  I go to vote for the all-star game and they have Aybar as Rays' third baseman.  I know he started the year but cmon MLB.  He's been our starting 3B 99% of the season.  I had to do a write-in for him.  Something should be done about this.

The ballots are put out towards the start of the season, it has always been like that.

If Navarro had as many AB's as Mauer, I think he would have had a shot for AL catcher.  What do you think?  Regardless, he's having a great season.

Not to win the fan vote, which is a popularity contest. I would agree that he should be considered.

Honestly the Rays are a real good team. Without many "superstars". And that is not a bad thing at all.

They kind of remind me of the 03 Marlins.

We had Pudge, but no other Stars.

Beckett and Cabera were not household names at the time.

its basically the yankees and redsox rosters making up the starting positions.

and the Cubs, this all star game is one I want to watch with it being at Yankee Stadium.

I think the reserves that get picked are really honored because their peers pick them. That being said I really hope Hanley keeps his spot. That kid is a stud.

The Marlins trading Beckett seemed to work out okay.

To prove the point about being a popularity contest - Jason Varitek was a CLOSE second behind Mauer as the catcher.  Are you kidding me???? Varitek!  He's hitting .218!!!  How is that all-star worthy?
