I suspect that USF will be in the next group of universities when it expands. Here is that story:Contacts:Sara Tervo, Victoria’s Secret PINK 614-577-7079Derek Hughes, The Collegiate Licensing Company, 770-799-3245Victoria’s Secret PINK introduces the EXCLUSIVE Collegiate CollectionVictoria’s Secret PINK has partnered with The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), an IMG company, to launch an exclusive assortment of collegiate co-branded merchandise. VS PINK has initially selected 33 top universities based on their regional appeal and large student and alumni populations. VS PINK worked with existing collegiate licensees to develop the product and to gain access to campus retail channels such as bookstores and event sales, providing a tremendous amount of growth potential for the VS PINK Collegiate Collection. On July 1, 2008, the assortment will be available through multiple channels including select Victoria’s Secret stores, online (www.victoriassecret.com), in the catalogue, as well as the new Victoria’s Secret PINK magalog. The Collegiate Collection includes 9 different items, including fleece pants, hoodies, panties, tees, and totes and will be available in approximately 375 stores, many of which are in close proximity to the universities in the program. Starting on June 20, Victoriassecret.com will have a selection of items available for all schools.Behati Prinsloo is the new face of the VS PINK Collegiate Collection. The popularity of your football team has NOTHING to do with it, it's about alumni base, and a record of good past season sales for a couple of years. If you skim thru the list a few more names, you'll see UCF fallin right behind USF.a LOT of manufacturers still haven't added USF to their list of schools they make merch for, give it some time, and it'll happen. When USF's "true" alumni base reaches half a million, expect a LOT more brands manufacturing USF no matter how well the athletic program is at that point. That's gonna be a while, since there's only around like 250,000 "true" alumni, and by TRUE alumni, I mean degree holding alumni. Also, hit the same position in the rankings for the 4th quarter of 2007 (October-December). That has a lot to do with the increase in their sales.

When we hit the national spotlight and had momentum the products started driving in and USF could not review and approve the licensing. Many manfacturers had to pass because the school did not get to their application until the end of the season.

We had the most unbullievable year (rise to 2, sell out crowds of 65k, national media attention, 5 - 6 games nationally televised, etc). And all our fans could muster up was 48.I would agree to the issue with having enough items to buy. For example, Sports Authority had a smallish USF section/rack, but a huge wall display of FSU. The USF stuff basically sold out. The FSU stuff was on the discount rack in January. Same thing with Bealls, they ran out but at least half way through they represented pretty well.I would imagine that this year that will step up a bit. The retailers were caught short (serves them right for not believing in teh bulls). This year, I imagine there will be a lot more and it will be better....still, 48 kind of sucks. Actually the front page of many. It's nice going from not even being available to being on the front page! We're on the front of these:http://www.collegefootballstore.com/ (granted it's a cheerleading outfit, but our name is there)http://www.ecampus.com/gearpage.asp (one of the girls here has a USF shirt, hover over it)

RicanBull Posted June 27, 2008 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 760 Reputation: 0 Days Won: 0 Joined: 02/07/2008 Share Posted June 27, 2008 Ofcourse we care how much we sell. Its all about growth and branding. UCF definitely did well because of the new logo. Same thing happened to us when we released the new ~U~Also, doesn't anyone else think that a girl in USF lingerie is quite possibly one of the hottest things you could see ;D

I know its the offseason but c'mon!Yes, it is actually quite important. First, more gear means more PR for USF. The more people see USF they more they want USF gear, and the more likely they are going to be to donate to the school or attend an event and spend money which would benefit the school.Secondly, for every item sold that has the USF on it and is officially licensed, USF gets some $$$. This will in turn help us to build our programs and fund the growth that is needed. If you have been on campus, you will have seen that we still need money in other areas of athletics for other sports, not just football. And hte Sun Dome is in serious need of some renovation - it is not that great of a facility. CJL cannot pay to keep his assistants. Think of what an extra $25k would do if he could attract and retain a great assistant, or another trainer, etc.Every dollar at this stage in the game will help the program. I hope we end up top 30 in sales after this season. C'Mon USF fans, vote with your wallets.....
