Losing Lousiville and Cincinnati and adding UTEP, Rice, and whoever else was a deathwish for C-USA. UCiF was a good gamble for that conference, but how they came up with the rest - other than sheer desperation - is beyond me.

People claim that the Big East needs more teams for credibility. Well, it didn't add any credibility to CUSA. They added a bunch of garbage (outside UCF). If the Big East adds any more teams all we'll have to pick from is garbage. There are no eastern non-BCS teams worth a ****. UCF could easily develop as we did in a BCS conference, but they would then be fighting for our recruits (USF doesn't want that).Teams could develop, but Temple was in a BCS league for years as is Duke and some other bottom feeders. Teams don’t' all magically get good with the BCS tag.In a few years when Cincy finally gets good recognition along with UConn the Big East would have enough credibility to let in a bottom feeder or two, but not at the moment.
