I could care less about the opinion of the guy who wrote that article...

It just makes more sense that if the Rays were to build a new stadium, it would be in Tampa.  I know I would make it to MANY more games if it were near hear.  It's almost an hour drive for me because I have to drive south down I75 and then hop on 275 to go over the bridge and get to st. pete.  Driving to Tampa through the crosstown is less than half and hour.  Thats half the gas money.  To get people in the stadium consistently every night it needs to be in Tampa.

Best case scenario...St. Pete rejects stadium proposal and Rays move to Tampa.

Worst case scenario...St. Pete rejects offer and Rays move out of state or to Orlando...

What is 15 miles west of Tropicana Field...

What is 2 miles south of Tropicana Field...

Water, ******* Water... Last time I checked water doesn't pay to go see baseball games

What is 15 miles North of Tropicana Field...  ******* old farts who won't go to the game, facts are when the Rays came to Pinellas they were counting on retirees with nothing else to do to flock to the game... well guess not.

median household income Pinellas:          $37K

median household income Hillsborough:  $40K

Sure you can blame people who live an hour away for not going to games, but when you immediate customers are water and retirees who don't go to the game, you don't have a whole lot to complain about.

Think about it, hockey in 2002 pre-stanley cup drew an average of 17K/game at the downtown Tampa location.

Average attendance since the Rays started... 17.7k for baseball, and that is with a 31K average the first year in 2008 http://www.baseball-almanac.com/teams/rays3.shtml

I think the 10 year experiment is done, move it to somewhere people can get to it and WILL GO!

What was the average attendance at the Thunderdome?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
