The NFL fanbase arguement is silly.

It's function of stadium size.  On top of that Miami just opened a brand new stadium.  A few 1-15 seasons will wear that away quickly.

Miami opened a new stadium? You must be a huge sports fan. We have been in the same stadium since 1986. That new stadium luster sure is keeping the stands full.

not to mention the bucs almost didnt sell out the playoff game vs the G men. Good thing they built that tiny stadium. and good thing all those Giants fans came down for the game.

Florida is not a baseball state.

Florida is not a baseball state.

Define "baseball state" for me.  We have had a lot of talented baseball players come out of this state and a ton of history with spring training.  We have many transplanted baseball fans that have stayed loyal to their teams and not supported the local team through their losing years.  I think that the Rays are developing a big following (albeit due to mostly bandwagon fans) and they will start to show up to the games just like the Bucs and Lightning have done.

Ya they'll start to show, but will they stay? The Lightning games are making their slow progression back down in attendance, simply because the team isn't as good. The 2 games I went to this year a good bit of the 3rd level was empty.

The Bucs season ticket list that was 100,000 names long found its way o me 4 and 1/2 years after I signed up in 2001.

The Bulls sold out one gamelast year and then had several thousand no shows after we lost. Attedance was at an all time high, but it wasn't lik you couldn't find a seat. You couldn't sell a ticket to Louisville, in fact several peole on this board had friends ditch and couldn't get close to face.

Tampa (The State of Florida at that) does have great fans when the teams are winning.

It's Miami, it Tampa, my hometown of Orlando, and Jacksonville.

We're all awful about it. The only sports team in this state that can say they get consistent attedance is the Gators and Noles.
