Rays get no support...........no difference between Tampa and miami market

It takes about an hour from Dallas to get to the Ballpark on weekdays.

Yes, the location is more central, but it's also off one of the worst freeways in the US.

 

It may take an hour from Dallas but that means it takes a half an hour from Fort Worth. Not to mention Arlington is 48% larger than st pete and has an average household income that is 38% larger than st pete.

You're missing my point. It is centrally located in an area that has a population base more than twice the size of st pete-tampa-clearwater. The trop is at the very south end. It takes me a solid hour from south tampa to get there and find parking and get into the game. Anybody further north is even worse. They should have built it near the bridges with easy access to st pete-tampa-clearwater.

I will have gone to 3 games this week and 8 overall this season from Carrollwood.  You just gotta go and quit the complaining.  Would I like to have the stadium in my backyard in Tampa?  Heck yes, but it ain't gonna happen anytime soon, if ever. 

That being said, I think that our attendance numbers are nearing a tipping point.  Casual fans are interested and it is showing up in TV ratings.  They will start to make plans to come.  I already have friends of mine that are making plans to come in from out of town just to go to Rays games.  They never wanted to go to the trouble before when the outcome was all but decided before the game was even played.  Patience grasshoppers.
