Selvie #2 on the list behind Maualuga (sp?) from USC.

2. George Selvie, South Florida, DE: A speed rusher who can also mix it up physically, Selvie wrapped up awards last season like he did sacks – in abundance. He was a consensus All-American, the Big East defensive player of the year and a finalist for the Ted Hendricks Award and the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, as well as receiving several other honors after posting the greatest defensive season in school history. He was second in the nation in sacks with 14.5 and led the country with 31.5 tackles for losses. He also forced three fumbles and blocked a kick. He was at his best against top competition, posting 3.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks against Auburn and a sack against West Virginia.

Too bad we just missed out on getting DT Ricky Jean-Francois who they rank as #5. We might have won the BE with him the past two years.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw Jean-Francois on the list. Wasn't his parents that wanted him to go to USF and he choose LSU or was it the opposite?

His mom HATED LSU. She thought they had put a voodoo spell on him. I don't think his dad cared, as he was the one who signed Ricky's LOI behind his wife's back. Ricky is also a track star and really wanted to compete on their top track team and has been successful there as well.

If Selvie has the banner year as expected, it will be awsome for USF to have two years back to back top NFL draft picks.

If Selvie is anywhere near where he was last year in stats he will easily be a top 5 pick!

It is baffling you can tie an NCAA record and not get any of the huge trophies.  If he's up there again he'll get one.
