the taping was for the College Gameday Live on saturday mornings.  i don't watch t.v. from friday at sundown to saturday at sundown.

So you dont watch USF games?

starting this season i won't be watching any games during that time period, as i'm not allowed to turn the t.v. on, due to it being forbidden to use anything electrical.

am i missing something here?

I am an Orthodox Jew, and have been keeping the Sabbath (a commandment) since the end of January.

You should definately invest in a DVR to record the games, or would that be like cheating the system and therefore not done?

Can you go to the games?  Drive up friday and camp out that way you wont have to drive!  See, I'd find a way around the rules if I could.

I couldn't do it.  Good luck, though!

plus we don't believe in hell.

i'm catholic, so unfortunately we not only get hell but we get purgatory as well.

i think i've racked up my fair share of time in both, so i figure i might as well just go for broke.

but i have a question... if there is no hell, why do u care if u break the Sabbath?  it's not like you're gonna burn in eternal hellfire or anything.  lol.

Last weekend I was speaking with a couple of my frineds that are Jewish. They too observe the Sabbath, but they told me that they have friends that on Friday afternoon they leave the TV on whatever channel they want to watch on Saturday.  Some people will rationalize whatever. I think that it is admirable that you are follwoing your faith as strictly as you are. I wish that I could say the same for my own faith. :)

i could do that if i had one, i could go to the games as long as i don't have to drive there.  unfortunately Ray Jay won't let you camp out there for USF games.  there are ways around there like having somebody turn the t.v. on for you.  and because it is something that is important for me.  thanks Bull-by-Marriage.

I don't know how hardcore they're going to be as USF get's a larger fan base, but I did camp out one game at the old mall parking lot.

that would help me a lot, i would drive down there friday during the day and be able to be at the game without having to drive or spend money.

That's hardly "USF" on SI, but close enough I suppose.  Most wouldn't know it was USF.  But I do like the way the "U" was incorporated into the top.  Creative.
