My bad did not know.  Anyway, Gotta bring BC back home.

OK how about this:

Tell Miami to come back since they have sucked since they left.

Beg charter Member BC back.

Give ND an alta matum all in or all out.

Convince Nova to make the jump (they are an average 1AA with these additions they could join da Cuse at the bottom of our league).

Then we could get a better TV contract, make more money and be awesome!

alot of ru people want ftu/ou/oc even though they acknowledge it wouldhurt their recruiting

usf should only do it if they could get state to build them a state of the art stadium(not dump like ftu/ou/oc

University of Houston?  Large TV market, located in TX (football hotbed like Florida), had some fame with a couple of QBs who put up some big numbers in the passing game.  If it was my decision, I would extend an invitation to Houston, to me they make the most sense and allows the Big East to penetrate the TX market.  Just my 2 cents.

no cusa teams

big east is better off standing pat

1) Our TV contract is almost 1/2 the other east BCS conferences. So we're not going to grab any team from those conferences based on money.

2) ND won't even play our teams at a legit home and home...good luck.

There are 4 legit schools at his point. Marshall, ECU, UCF, and Southern Miss. Memphis has and outside shot, and my pick TCU would be on an island like us. Just don't see it happening.

Cross Marshall and UCF off that list.  WVU will never let Marshall in -- heck, they had to be forced by the state to play a four - for - one schedule.  USF will not want UCF to be let in.  ECU and Southern Miss have such small television market, they won't really be considered.

The real contenders are... in order:

Memphis -- Large media market. Comes with the Liberty Bowl.

Tulane -- Large media market. Comes with the New Orleans Bowl.

TCU -- Large media market. Comes with the Ft. Worth Bowl. (Distance would be an issue)

Toledo -- Medium sized media market.

JMHO

tulane barely has a football program and hardly seemlike big east team

toledo??? come on  BIG EAST BETTER NEVER TAKE A mac TEAM

WHY GO BACKWARDS???

TCU IS IN TEXAS NOT EXACTLY EAST

MEMPHIS-WHERE WOULD THERE BASKETBALL PROGRAM FIT IN?

Right in ND's spot.

I agree.  Tell ND that we need another football program and if they wont step in we'll replace them in all sports.  I'm sure Memphis can bring in more revenue in basketball than ND.

Sure we're just throwing stuff out there, but here is my take:

Assuming its not happening right away, and assuming Tranghese was being truthful when he said it may be a team that's not on the radar at present . . . . . keep an eye on SMU.

1.  They have a swanky new stadium in downtown Dallas (not an erector set);

2.  They have a football history that surpasses all BE teams except maybe Syracuse;

3.  They would greatly help our overall GPA in the conference; and

4.  They have the donor base that would make most schools blush.

When I was a kid in Dallas, SMU sold out Texas Stadium.  They got the death penalty and have just recently recommitted themselves to playing serious D1 football.

I'm not a prophet, but I think SMU will be unrecognizable in five years from its present form.

SMU is not even close to being in the east.  I realize Memphis isn't very east either but at least it's on this side of the Mississippi river.

    "There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
