All other matters aside, I would be 100% approving of a yearly game with UCF if they were in a BCS conference.  No more, no less.

This is exactly right.  I also believe that this is what the Athletic Department is trying to convey to everybody.  It is not that we specifically do not want to play UCF, it is that they are not currently in one of the Big 6 conferences so there is NO advantage to USF in keeping the series alive.  If and when UCF makes the move, then I think you may see the series resume.

just because a school is inclose proximity and they play a few games does not make them rivals.
