Lockwood Selected to Honor Roll

TAMPA, Fla. – Following an 8-for-13 performance in three games, freshman Ryan Lockwood has been added to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week of May 5-11.

The award is Lockwood's third of the season and the team's 12th conference weekly honor this year.

Lockwood extended his hitting streak to 30 games, collecting a double, one run scored and two RBI. He posted a .615 batting average in three games, as well as a .692 slugging and .643 on base percentage. In the field, he made 15 put outs and had one assist with no errors. He started the week with a 4-for-5 night against UCF, then was 2-for-4 in a pair of games against the league-leading St. John's Red Storm. He did not play the final game of the weekend due to an injury.

This marks the third-consecutive week that Lockwood has batted better than .500. The All-American candidate currently leads the team with his .415 batting average, 80 hits, 12 stolen bases and .493 on base percentage.

In BIG EAST games only, Lockwood is batting .454 this season, which leads the conference by .040 points. He is also atop the league with his .523 on base percentage.

During his 30-game hitting streak, the longest active streak in the country, he is batting .464 with 58 hits in 125 at bats. He has scored 27 runs and collected 24 RBI, hitting 11 doubles and a pair of triples. He has also been walked 16 times and stolen nine bases. The freshman had made 89 putouts in the field with no errors during the 30 games.

Great job Ryan!  Hopefully he gets Player of the Year.  Without him, we'd be last for sure.
