2 time World Champion vs a team whom has never finished over .500.

Ya the Rays are great.

They will finish below .500 again.

We're not talking about the past, though, we're talking about right now and how 85% of your wins have come against teams that couldn't hold Toronto's jock.

Marlins are a competent team in a mediocre division... much like UCF is a competent team in the dregs of CUSA.

Congratulations... the Marlins are the UCF of Major League Baseball.  =)

PS - Just to irk you, I just bought you on Facebook and gave you away to Kevin Smith.  You're now owned by him.  =)

That is wrong....... :-)

We shall see what happens this year. The fact is 3 of our better starting pitchers have been out all year. If our starting pitching comes around we could compete for a playoff spot. Can you honestly say the Rays have a shot at the playoffs?

To be honest UCF football has been more sucessful than the Rays. Atleast they have a championship.

If the season ended today... the Rays would be in.

Yeah, there's a lot of baseball to be played, but they're winning with pitching and defense.  If those hold up... there's no reason why they can't get the wild card.  I don't think they have the horses to win the division with BOS/NYY there... but hey, stranger things have happened.

If you can call winning CUSA a championship.  It's like winning the "who is the least retarded" contest.

Yes he is. And we can't wait till he goes back. LMAO.

He adamantly always states how bad Tampa is blah blah blah and only reason he is here cause he is going to USF. (Which is great!) But enough of the Miami teams.

WE DO NOT CARE!

Hey... cut him a little slack.  He WAS out at the baseball game with us last Tuesday supporting the Bulls against the bad guys.

He may be deluded by piss-poor Miami teams, but at least he's dedicated =)

The Rays play Boston and New York 19 times a year.

The Marlins play the pathetic Nationals 19 times a year.  And the Phillies suck too.

I would love to play the Yankees 19 times a year.  They may have the worst rotation in all of baseball.

The Nationals are pathetic but so are the Orioles.   The Rays and Marlins are both solid teams.

As for which division is better, its probably a tossup.

I would say the AL east goes Boston, Toronto, Rays, Yankees, Orioles.

NL East goes Mets, Phillies, Marlins, Braves, Nationals.

I can make a stronger argument that the NL East is more consistent and deeper than the AL East.  Times do change sometimes fellas, just look at the Rays.

Bruce Blingstein - A Mets fan, who adopted the Rays as his new AL team.

haha your al east prediction is hilarious. toronto sucks, no way they finish ahead of the rays.

you might be right about the rays finishing above the Jays, but dont sleep on their pitching staff.

Vernon Wells just going out 2 months doesnt help either.

Anything can happen.  Hell, the Fish blew it against the Mets last night.

83, your team better shore up its defense if you want to stay competitive.  Saw a dropped fly ball in the outfield and a passed ball that should have been stopped.  Those are little league mistakes.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
