We need the rest of the league to rise with us for this to be possible.

why not?

The Big ten blows and they get in(and lose) every year.

Big 10 is better top to bottom and they have huge fanbases. The Big East has a much lesser reputation. I was referring to reputation with the poor OOC by a lot of other teams. The Buffalo's of the world won't get you any respect.

Ohio State Schedule 07 OOC Schedule

Youngstown State

Akron

Washington

Kent

terrible

and their conference is the most overrated of all the BCS

The BE has won their last 3 BCS games? Maybe more? I don't see how they could possibly vote us out if we can win even 1 of the next 2.

Maybe they should question the Big Ten if they use this kind of sound logic.

When is the last time they won a BCS game?

I think the beatdown OSU gave ND in the Fiesta Bowl.

But we've seen just how overrated ND is these days.

You asked for a BCS win, not a BCS win over a competitive team.  That may have been the UM National Title game with the 5 second delayed pass interference penalty.

I envision a day in which USF owns its recruiting grounds...Pinellas to Polk and Hernando to Manatee counties.  Much like UM owns South Florida now.

The only thing I see holding USF back is a possible loss of the BEAST champ automatic BCS selection after 2009.

Lets all pray to the football god that it doesn't happen.

I agree.  However, it may just depend on who we add to the conference after that time frame.  Plus, if we win our next two BCS games (as a conference) then we would be sitting on four straight BCS wins for our conference's resume.  I would assume if it were more than just UL and WVU as those teams, it would speak a lot for the BE's automatic bid.

Key phrase. Someone other than WVU needs to win our BCS game. If not, we will always be considered a one (maybe 2) team conference

Totally agree with this.  Hopefully we're the team to change that myth.

As far as next year goes... If we only lose 1 conference game then we'll be BEAST Champs. Also I'll be ok with us going 4-1 OOC.  Just as long as that loss is to KU.

Actually thats my prediction for next year... 10-2 season record and BCS berth.  I can't predict the bowl game cuz I have no idea who the opponent would be.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
