Good riddance.Yes, and I feel the same way.

Gridiron God Posted May 1, 2008 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 98 Reputation: 0 Days Won: 0 Joined: 01/07/2008 Share Posted May 1, 2008 I like this move. Add a bowl closer to home for bail out reasons. Get the oppurtinity to play an SEC team in the good but not great seasons. Then again 12-0 and we get to play for the crystal ball. :2centsDon't agree with this mentality. Playing the SEC is much better than playing the CUSA, no doubt, but playing the #9 SEC team is not better than playing the #3 or #4 from any conference. The #9 SEC team will not travel their fans because no team is going to be happy to finish 9th out of 12 teams.

Can we start counting down the days now?

I'l take a "bottom half" BCS team over a middle of the pack mid major anyday of the week.
goodknightfl Posted May 2, 2008 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 677 Reputation: 0 Days Won: 0 Joined: 07/03/2003 Share Posted May 2, 2008 It sounds to me like ESPN, BE, CUSA, and SEC all worked together here for the good of all. For BE 1/2 time tex vs big 10/tcu was traded for SEC full time in Bham, Full time Bham vs cusa was traded for St pete full tim vs cusa.. good deal for BE gains 2 bowl games in 4 years, a SEC match up, and a fla bowl. Sec got a bowl for its #9 in the town where it has its headquarters.. win for SEC. Cusa gets liberty moved to big boy day, Trades birmingham for St pete.. (fla bowl game), and adds 2 more tex bowl games so it has 6 every year, 3 against bcs schools,. Good for CUSA. even the ACC, Navy, and Mac come out ok with congress bowl. It was a miinor bowl mini shake up that helped all. BE has solidified itself as a BCS conf. and CUSA has made a statement that is is a solid #7. Will it be going head to head with one of the big boy games? The Liberty had a pretty good rating last year, I believe, when it was all by itself.... or does just the aura of playing the same day override anything else?
