For evidence of that-- look at Paterno, Bowden, Michael Jordan, Red Auerbach, etc--- That is not saying I don't see this as something Coach Leavitt can accomplish-- but it is definitely a prerequiaite for such type of action. For the most part I agree, but he does get an additional pass that Paterno & crew don't have in their favor in that he started our program. USF doesn't live in a bubble. We should be thankful that we are in the BEAST and have the opportunity to get better each and every year, not just complain about not winning it all. Granted, last year we were one play away (vs. UCONN) from winning the BEAST but that would've exceeded my expectations for last year. This year I think we have to raise the expectations. With that said, CJL has done a great job....not many other coaches could've pulled it off IMO.

What Leavitt has done in the past decade is simply amazing, and he deserves every cent. My only argument is that we still need to get more dollars into the hands of our assistants in order to stem the consistent turnover of them heading to other programs simply because they can make more money in the same positions. More than anything, I think that will have a strong effect on our recruiting, simply because we need the assistants to be seen by the prospects in high school for all four years that they're there, instead of seeing one guy for a year or two, and then a different guy. I think that has an adverse effect in our recruiting. Obviously, there are other ways we can improve our recruiting, but I believe this is one piece of the puzzle. We've touched 9 wins twice, but not exceeded it.
