Number of draftees per school in Florida:

University of Central Florida: 3

Florida State University: 3

University of Miami: 3

University of Florida: 2

University of South Florida: 2

Florida A&M University: 1 0 *

Florida International University: 1 0 *

Florida Atlantic University: 0

per school in the Big East:

University of Louisville: 5

University of Pittsburgh: 3

West Virginia University: 3

University of Cincinnati: 2

University of Connecticut: 2

Rutgers University: 2

University of South Florida: 2

Syracuse University: 0

So, here is proof that Jim Leavitt can tell any recruit: "We can put you into the NFL just as easily as any other Florida/Big East school..."

* Misread the draft site. FAMU & FIU didn't have any draftees. Sorry.

the fact that we have a first rounder is what we should be happy about. not that we had two players drafted

Ben may want to rethink his choice of agents ....  ::)

Passed over in the NFL Draft, former USF linebacker Ben Moffitt has landed on his feet, signing a free-agent contract with the Houston Texans on Sunday night, according to his agent, Marc Lillibridge.

"They didn't draft any linebackers, and we feel like it's a good fit for him," said Lillibridge, who said he heard from about 15 other teams after the draft before choosing the Texans. Houston actually drafted outside linebacker Xavier Adibi of Virginia Tech in the fourth round.

Notre Dame had four guys drafted, and they were freaking awful last year.

Yes, I know they're NOTRE DAME and that makes everybody swoon.

But either NFL teams are paying a lot of money to guys who couldn't execute simple plays for most of last season, or Notre Dame is paying a lot of money to a coaching staff that couldn't get NFL talent to execute simple plays.

I guess the point is that number of players a school has drafted doesn't mean much one way or the other.

For further evidence, check out the team on your list up there with the most players drafted ...

Mike and Trae were recruited before we ever played a C-USA conference game.  And after our second D1 season.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
