The Morning After: Jenkins Media Recap

TAMPA -- History was made yesterday as cornerback Mike Jenkins was selected by the Dallas Cowboys with the 25th pick in the First Round of the NFL Draft.

While a portion of the Bulls contingent may be dissapointed that he dropped to that range of the first round, Jenkins has to be excited about joining an established winner and a team that should once again be a Super Bowl favorite.

USF beat writer Greg Auman of the St. Pete Times wrote, "Former USF cornerback Mike Jenkins might have waited a little longer than he had hoped, but the Dallas Cowboys used the 25th pick in Saturday's NFL draft to select him, making him USF's first-ever first-round pick."

Many thought Jenkins would end up with the hometown Buccaneers, who picked at No. 20.

Tampa Tribune beat writer Brett McMurphy spent time with Jenkins on Saturday and noted that he was, "disappointed" that the hometown Bucs passed on him.
