Air Tran has pretty affordable flights to Pittsburgh right now (169.00/person roundtrip). Additionally, I was able to get a room at the Best Western Mountaineer Inn (1.7 miles from the WVU Stadium) for $110.00/night through Priceline.com (a $40/night savings off of their normal rate). Once we had the room reserved, an offer for 50% off from Hertz comes up on the priceline page, with a compact car for 2 days costing $58.00. We will be able to do the whole trip (air.room.car) for a total of $653.00 for two.

I am excited about staying in Morgantown for the game. It should be a great experience. I would love to hear the experiences of others who stayed in Morgantown in 2006. 

*The Priceline rate was obtained using Name Your Own Price, and by selecting 2 Star hotel Morgantown. There are only 4 or so hotels in Morgantown with availability at this point for that weekend, so if you plan on staying in town, I would reserve sooner rather than later. THe other options (Hampton Inn and Waterplace) are just not worth the cost ($269 to $299 per night).

Also, if you do not want to stay in Morgantown, but rather Pittsburgh, you can have a room at a LaQunita Inn or a similar hotel for $50 to $70 per night.

What is the closest airport to Morgantown?

The closest major airport is Pittsburgh. There are small municipal airports that are closer, but way too much to be worth it. It is about 1 hour and 20 minutes from Pittsburgh to Morgantown.

4 person party on the way to Morgantown.  Maybe one more to be added later.  Booked the tix today!  2 from San Antonio for $248 ea. and 2 from Tampa for $182 including seat fees  > .  This is my first BE conference roadie.   Come to think of it the first win in ECU was not a con. game so this is hte first con. roadie.  Should be fun.  It would be great if its the conference championship game.
