I don't live in orlando or tampa, but have a hard time believing there is more local coverage of ucf.  USF has two papers covering it, so the OS would have to do the combined work of both the TB and the SPT.  Given the complaints from ucf fans about lack of coverage I doubt that is true.

Orlando is really not a sports town. They have gimmick football, the Magic, and UCF. The Bay area has four professional teams (football, hockey, baseball, gimmick football, and the Bulls). Yes they get more local coverage. The Bay Area is just a better sports town.
