If I had to define "arrived," I would say it means that USF is thought of as a regular, big-time football program. But I realize your definitions my differ. How do you define it? Regular appearances in Top 25 ranking? Sending players to NFL?

Someone on here mentioned before how national press articles no longer treat USF as a novelty. Recent articles (for instance the one on Mike Jenkins in USA Today) talked about USF without reservation or qualification. No mentions of trailers, lighting the practice fields with car lights, etc.

I travel quite a bit, and have had more people recognize USF branded clothes I wear.

Based on my definition, I'd say that USF is in the "arriving process". We're certainly recognized as a legit force, but need to lockdown a conference championship or two and some major bowl wins to codify our place in mainstream FBS football.

we're getting there, but until we win at least a conference championship AND win a BCS game, then we still have a long, long way to go.

Unfortunately would have to say no.

Thought the Auburn and West Virginia games signalled our arrival but we erased all that with the miserable finish.

I will say that we "arrived" when Rutgers rushed the field on us.  Rushing the field is reserved for an upset of a big-time or highly-ranked program.

So Bowling Green is big time?  We rushed the field vs. them.

Regardless of our next season's record, we will get a further boost a year and a week from now when Selvie goes top 3 in the draft and spends part of a saturday afternoon in the "green room" on national TV.

Just my opinion, but I think he'll have the type of season that makes his decision too easy.  He's transformed from a lightning-fast, wiry pass rusher to a lightning-fast, physical beast of a pass rusher.

In a related matter, I'm interested to see how many florida newspapers send a reporter to the BE football coaches meeting this summer.  Wasn't it just the Times, Trib and Ledger last year.

It wasn't all erased. If it was we wouldn't be showing on any of those ridiculously early pre-season polls and we wouldn't have garnered all the nationally televised games this early...
