No one mentioned Johnny Peyton at WR.

I thought he was great, maybe we didnt use him enough. IMO, atleast backup on the All-time list

He certainly had the physical tools to be one of the best, but so do a lot of players.  At some point, at this level, you need to realize that you won't get by on physical ability alone.  You sure don't get better by reading the newspaper or falling asleep in team meetings.

I agree. I feel like he was similar to Amari in that he had the tools, but never got there. Somene mentioned Amari, so I felt I should throw his name in for debate purposes

I was going to say Barnhardt also as an honorable mention. He was a pretty good pure passer. I give the edge to Grothe though for QB1. Blackwell was great, but I would say that his receivers were better also. Whittaker, Smith, Rubin were pretty good, caught almost everything, and made things happen. Grothe has been a victim of dropped passes quite often over the last couple of years. I would also say, and I could be wrong, but our O-line was probably better then (maybe not better, but matched up better with respect to the competition). Grothe is always under pressure.

I could be mis remembering though.

Also, if you can have a slot receiver with Rubin and Whittaker, I would throw Ean Randolph in there even though he was only here one season. That guy was a stud. I hope he get a chance to become Wes Welker for the Chiefs (he's still with them right?).

coaching staff would disagree

they would say grothe has more, better and deeper receiveing corp

when did LeRoy Selmon play for USF?

4 or 5 years ago ...... I think I remember him winning one of our OT games with an interception.... or was that just a spelling jab?

Selmon, Jr. played from 1999-2004, getting extra eligibility due to injuries.

In 2003, he had an interception on a deflected passed to seal a 24-17 homecoming victory over Cincinnati.
