My wife called me to say he was at her company this morning offering a motivational speech during their national sales meeting.  I am sure it was a paid promotional appearance for him.

She said he was well prepared, and did a great job for this business crowd.  He related his success, and failures, on field to those in business.  He mentioned that he thanks every person, every day, that he encounters who have an impact on his team.  Even the person who cleans the floors since that is where his players are and it is a reflection on the program.

He talked about the Auburn game, how he had said that if it comes down to the end, he would go for the win, and the whole team was on board with it.  Instead, he decided to kick even after all of those misses, because he felt the kicker would be done for the season if he had not had a chance to win the respect and confidence back.

Supposedly he was well received by the crowd, and did a great job, and was quite gracious.  People were pumped up.  My wife waited to talk to him and let him know that we were season tix holders since day one. He was really nice to her about that, and talked with her for a few minutes...

He did mention that he had two players at opening spring practice who had a lost look in their eyes.  He said it kept him up last night from 3 am on.  He said as soon as he left from the talk this morning, he was going to seek them out as they were his focus for the next couple days - to bring them into the group with the other guys who are on board.

Also said that "good" is not enough - that is how people lose.  He said he strives only for "great" as that is the only way to win games.   He said USF was just good when they lost hte 3 games, not great....

Anyway, sounded like a good motivational speech.  Not like an SNL skit "....or you'll be living in a van down by the river"....

the more talent the less talking is needed by a coach

Instead of speaking to them, he should have headbutted them. LOL
