Paperwork detailing every player on West Virginia's roster, as well as the program's activities over the past seven years, went missing between Rodriguez's resignation as coach to take over at Michigan and the team's return from the Fiesta Bowl, the Charleston (W.Va.) Gazette reported.

Wow, this could get really interesting.  8)

Rodriguez fires back:

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3200951

"The things they are saying are not true," Rodriguez told the Blade. "It's a lie. How can you put out lies and think it's OK? They don't care what the truth is, they just want to smear Rich Rodriguez."

"It's very frustrating," Rodriguez told the Blade. "I knew there'd be some emotions involved when I left, but I wanted to take the high road. I've chosen to move on, but it's almost like it's something new every day, and it's totally ridiculous."

Then there are the hillbilly fans who have been threatening Rodriguez's family since he decided to leave:

I thought people in the South took football way too seriously, but this might top all of them. The Mountaineers fans need to get a grip.

you should not take any "news" story on espn as accurate - they merely regurgitate stories from other place and do not even attempt to verify the accuracy of the stories.

So you're saying the Associated Press, one of the last bastions of traditional journalism, doesn't do any fact-checking?

go read the AP story - is there any substantiation to the allegations?  was there any attempt to contact the other relatives, school, police, etc. where these purported events occurred?  all they did was interview one lady who made some assertions.  please show me where they document and/or discuss in their story that they checked her facts and/or statements.  there isnt any.

neither of the stories you are linking to do anything but interview one side of a story and regurgitate what they were told - there was no "fact-checking".

i read an article where moffitt's wife claims he is a deadbeat and that she did his coursework.  she said it, they printed it, no attempt was made to verify or get input from other sources.  should i accept her version as "fact"?
