LSU runs a Pro set (ie 2 backs, 2/3 wr, 1 te)

Uh. No. Crowton runs a modified spread.

They do work under center a lot, but unless it is short yardage a FB is not in.

What makes the LSU offense hard to defend is the fact that they do run out under center, from the shotgun, and the pistol.

You will also see the TE split out to create a spreadlike 4 receiver set.

With Perilloux starting next year you'll see a lot more of the "spread-option" similar to that Florida runs.

Personal note: I really liked the look of that pistol formation

Read above Smaz, they run the spread more than they do the pro set. In fact their offensive coordinator was one of the fathers of the modern spread...

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
