No.  The only way a 6-6 team "has to" get a bowl is if there are no more teams left in the conference with at least 6 wins... for USF to finish 6-6 both Pitt and Louisville would get to 6 wins... making USF one of at least six bowl eligible teams... for five bowl slots... (Rutgers could lose out and not make a bowl game, but if they win another game and USF loses out, there would be 7 bowl eligible teams for the five slots).

From #2 in the country to having the season end 2 days after Thanksgiving.  How the hell have we started to suck so bad?

Putting aside the fact that we very well may not win another game, the Big East is likely to have 6 - possibly 7 - bowl eligible teams.  With that many choices, I can see our Bulls getting shut out with the dismal second half of the season.  Perhaps the best we can hope for is an at large bid in some pathetic bowl where another conference doesn't have enough qualifiers.

At this point, we really don't deserve a bowl bid.  But we certainly need the extra month of practice.

Make no mistake about it though.  This team is very capable of losing out and getting shut out of a bowl.
